Also note that fuel is very heavily-taxed so vehicles with a low mpg are
unpopular outside of the conspicuous consuption set. Our fuel taxes have
just gone up *again* today, and it's going to break through the pound a
litre mark (about $7.50/gallon) once that filters through the supply chain.
