i know of one hp -> nt port - a medical system - and they used
interix.

i vaguely recall a mid-'90s review/comparison of the ms posix pkg vs
interix.  iirc their conclusion was that the ms software was cheap,
slow, and buggy, whereas interix was fast, robust, and [comparatively]
expensive.

they've been watering interix down until it won't run on its own, only
alongside win32.  a lot of it - i spotted r-commands - has leaked into
xp too.
