My B50 did this to me at one stage, I booted it headless on a serial
console and chose that to do something, then decided I'd prefer the
Frame-buffer console and had one hell of a time getting it to switch
back. I got exactly the same symptoms - it would just sit at the end
of the OFW boot screen and not proceed. re-attaching a serial console
revealed it was still using that as it's control console, and not
accepting the framebuffer. I got it to switch back eventually after a
good number of reboots. I don't remember how sadly - sorry :(
