As other folks have said, ttya is the port (9600,8N1), but to avoid the reboot
(keyboard break) when you unplug the keyboard, you can use man kbd(1).

This will allow you to turn off keyboard break, unplug the keyboard - and upon
the next reboot(a panic...say!) - you will be on the serial console.  Not
perfect, but it could save you some downtime....
