Umm, what do you have in mind?

I do not see it this way - big iron features have mostly nothing to do 
with desktop. Scalable SMP, NUMA, CPU and RAM hotplug, IO interconnects, 
multipathing IO etc - nothing for the desktop. Desktop developments 
seems rather a (slow) reaction to desktop requirements - drivers, 
drivers, low latency, audio framework (ALSA), direct rendering, etc. If 
there is anything common in big iron and desktop, maybe thread supprt 
has something to do with desktop too, but other than that, nothing comes 
to mind.
