exactly what i did on my old sparc2 with 2.6, although my disks were
identical.  i mirrored /, which had everything but /var and /export.
unmirrored swap on both disks, then /var on one and /export on the
other.

the $DEITIES were really watching when the one that failed wasn't the
one with my home dir.
