Google for iPod and Brasso.  The front part of iPods are made of the
same stuff as iBooks and folks have had decent luck with Brasso on
there.  If I were to do it though, I'd open the sucker up and do it on
the bare front, that way I could wash it with soap and water after.

A trick of the ROTC/.mil trade for slow-to-tarnish "brass" is using
Brasso on it, then soap and water to get the oil off, as well as using
a cloth to handle the brass when you are re-attaching it to your
uniform.  Oil, either from the Brasso or your hands, makes the brass
tarnish faster.

gah.  The amount of no-longer-useful trivia in my head is astounding at times.
