If you look at Apple's production figures, they certainly were making very
large orders, or they'd not have been able to produce what they did.

What I heard is Apple ordered what they needed for current demand, and the
orders were not being delivered. 

Also, that they asked for faster CPUs, and were promised them, but IBM/Moto
never delivered or delivered late.

The latter makes sense if you look at what IBM/Moto said they were going to
deliver, and that they seem to have faltered in delivering on those promises.

Apple can't place orders for a non-existent CPU...

Also, it seems to me that Intel is even less likely to want to deal with Apple
if they operate like that than IBM/Moto.
