They're full sized cards using the older linear flash format rather
than the newer format used in CF or full sized cards.  There is
actually a recent driver for the newt that allows the newer/larger/cheaper
ATA cards to be used.  I played with the beta and there was a limit
on partition sizes such that the card had to be partitioned, but
I haven't kept up with it because I've never felt limited by 80MB. :)

The 120 will work on 4 AA batteries until you can get a replacement
AC adapter.  If you use NiCd you can even charge them inside the
newton if you put a little piece of cardboard under them to keep
the button depressed.  It works fine with NiMH or alkaline, but don't
push the charging button down.  (The factory pack is 4 bundled AA
batts where the packaging presses the button.)

Put in a fresh backup battery and fresh AA batts, press and hold the
reset button (under the battery cover) then press and release the
power button.  Continue to hold the reset button for a few more seconds.
It should ask if you want to erase all your data (choose whichever
you like) and then you should be good to go.  If that doesn't work,
remove both the backup battery and the AA batts overnight and then
try the reset procedure again.
