Maybe this was an additional problem in the past. The main problem with
"big" disks on the VS3k1 are the boot ROMs. They are unable to address
sectors beyond approx. 1 GB. Only the old VS3k1 / MV3k1 have that
problem. Newer machines like the VS3k1m76 are not limited.
