12VDC and cigarette lighter sockets.  Seriously.  Cheap, common, and
there are so many 12VDC appliances out there with cigarette lighter
plugs.

I'd probably run the battery bank at a higher voltage for efficiency
reasons, then tap each 12VDC circuit from the battery bank using
one of those load distribution boards.

If you had enough stuff that ran directly off of 48VDC, yes.
