pro tip:

take a RJ11 (phone handset cord), cut off the tab, file the stub, down, then
wrap transparent ("scotch") tape around the plug to "shim" it and make it fit 
snugly.

Cut off other end, wire to DB connector as necessary.

Has worked for me a few times in a pinch. 8-)
