NetBSD 1.6 and up has a very well working and easy to use cross compile
system.
./build.sh -m sun3 -U release
(You may add "-j 4" on a dual CPU machine.)
Or to get only a new kernel:
./build.sh -m sun3 tools && ./build.sh -m sun3 kernel=MYCFG

On the other side: Whats wrong with waiting a day or so for a kernel
compile? ;-)
