I'd think of making a big chunk of the refrigerator door into a giant
PDA, synchronizing back to a central machine that cross-syncs the data
to the PDA you carry with you.  As you mark up the Shopping List in the
kitchen, it gets updated to the one in your pocket.  When not doing
anything else, the display can show pictures.

A similar device in the bathroom might actually be the "killer app" to
make e-books useful :)
