Depends on what you want to do.  An R3k Indigo is fast enough for some
stuff.  An R12k Octane/MXE isn't fast enough for others.  The Creator
series cards are limited by their lack of texture memory, so you're be
limited to shading if you wanted realtime results.

It's slick.  2D performance on the Creator cards is really, really
smooth.  3D is nice, but not really anything to write home about.  I'd
say it compares somewhere around SGI's Extreme graphics line on the 3D
side, and somewhere approaching IMPACT graphics on 2D.

An Ultra 2 (or Ultra 1E) with Creator3D would fit that bill quite
nicely, but Octanes are so cheap--why settle for anything less?
