Yes.  Exactly.  And currently they are hiding behind a law that
says you can't sue a company that is a benefits provider.  It's
a law that was MEANT to protect investment companies from being
sued if the market turned down, but was worded poorly.  And the
HMOs spend a LOT of money to make sure no one can clarify the law.

Of course, they claim they AREN'T making medical decisions, but
that's bullshit.

The stereotypical "rich doctor" tends to be the exception nowadays...
They have to see too many patients for very little money.  I'm
not losing sleep over their smaller paychecks, but I worry about
the quantity of patients they must see and a system that generally
discourages proactive medicine.
