Notice I said "the majority".  :)  Perhaps I should have explicitly,
rather than implicitly, excepted the compact Macs -- and even then, the
HP-150 looked a lot like a compact Mac with a bigger screen.

Mrm, not sure I agree.  The tower Mac cases were a case of Mac emulating
PC (externally, at least) rather than PC emulating Mac.  Except that Mac
cases tended to be sparse on drive bays, and since Apple tended to ship
them with such niggling small factory drives, you ran out of expansion
room fast if you needed storage, which led to an untidy stack of
external drive cases.

(And it took Apple *how* many years longer than the PC world to discover
 SCSI-II?  And then Wide SCSI?  But that's another issue.)
