Nope, I believe it is part of Apple's design language, like the "Snow
White" machines (Mac II, SE, etc) the external appearance matched the
Finder's appearance, i.e squarish shapes and figures with white accencts
and stripes. So I believe this is the same approach: brushed aluminum
design for the case + finder. I find it quite an stylistic approach IMHO.
Apple's are not just about being intutitive but about having style, And I
love the look of the new machine.... btw.
