Yes, actually I have a few of them, along with several SSA arrays. I

Yes, and no. To convert a 1000 (or 2000) to an E model you have to 
replace the control board, as well as all the system boards. Of course 
the memory, and cpu modules are interchangable, so it's just a matter 
of the control board and system boards.
