They have, however, released some older OS now, like MVS 3.8.

If they'd release MVS/XA you could really have some fun with now "junk"
mainframe hardware.

A friend of mine has some Cray supercomputers gathering dust.  They are
J90s or something.  They like to suck a lot of power.

Funny... he bought them (5 of them) for $3000, and immediately sold the
HIPPI cards in one of them for $5000 to a local company.  He's sold all
but one of the supers as well, as some companies still use them.

If you can stomach the risk, you can make money in deals like this, you
just have to find out who still needs the hardware or the parts.
