Not everyone has the right magic in their addressbook. I tried a BUNCH 
of avenues to source OS/400. They all dead-ended just short of 
happiness.

If you know something I don't know, by all means, now's the time to 
spill the beans!

Also-- IBM does not now nor have they ever had an official hobbyist 
program for AS/400.
