Just keep in mind that not all PC motherboards do ECC, even when they
say they do.

Many of them might even support it but not have the hardware/software to
let the OS detect ECC problems, etc.

Very few PC type motherboards have a real ECC memory system from what I
have seen so far.

I don't believe that any of the BSDs or Linux supports it either, but I
would love to be wrong about that.
