Right, but I think that "will $highlyProprietaryHardware run on $otherOS?"
always begs the question of "why not run $vendorsOS if you want to use the
hardware to its fullest?" It's fun to hack around with stuff that kinda
halfway works with NetBSD and Linux and whatever, but when I want
omething to work (which I usually do), I go back to the vendor's OS.
With all the polish that Solaris has gotten in 9 and all the performance
improvements that Sun has brought about, it's hard for me to see running
anything -other- than Solaris on sun4u, except in the case of hardware
that sun doesn't support at -all- anymore.
