10mW?  Hmm, I'd tend to doubt that's right (unless you've actually read it on 
the tube).  I don't know why they'd need so much power for laserdisc 
playback?

I have a 2.4mW tube and power supply from a mid-90's Xerox high-speed printer.  
As soon as I can find a decent pair of galvos and a driver I'm going to try 
to write code for writing images on the wall ;)

(There was some software for the Amiga that would do this.  The Amiga's audio 
output could be connected to a galvo driver and modulated to control the 
laser.  I think this software was finally released to public domain per a 
website I saw not long ago.... should've grabbed it then.)
