Friend of mine used to work on high-voltage equipment which was all
properly kept in a shielded cage, safety-interlocked, etc, etc.

His impatient (and foolhardy) co-worker kept disabling the safety
interlocks, because it saved him (I shit you not) ten seconds every time
he had to open the cage.  Mike got knocked across the room a couple of
times as a result, when things that bloody well SHOULDN'T have been hot
were.
