I sort of see your point, but I think what you seem to be trying to
state verges on tautological -- "stereotype rednecks with something to
prove have something to prove".

I'm glad to hear that. It's a refreshingly realistic viewpoint. I've
never understood the people who not only think it's a good idea to try
to put the genie back in the bottle, but labor under the delusions that
violent criminals (who, by definition, don't obey laws) will obey
gun-control laws, and that if making something illegal didn't work,
making it illegal again with different wording will.

Bigger than that. About 68mm. (3lb spherical lead fishing weights run
about 60-62mm, which works out just nicely with some newspaper wadding.)
And yes, a weekend off with the artillery used to be a wonderful stress
releiver.
