I would imagine that as long as you maintain the lineage (never claim
it as your own work product), and make a good faith effort to contact
the original author, you should be fine.

As a bonus, I would suggest keeping the original *abandoned* FAQ
available, so that the previous maintainer/authors efforts are clear...
