In Solaris 9 it's been renamed to the Logical Volume Manager :-

% pkginfo | grep lvm
system      SUNWlvma       Solaris Volume Management APIs
system      SUNWlvmg       Solaris Volume Management Application
system      SUNWlvmr       Solaris Volume Management (root)

Obviously they've done this just to confuse everyone.
