GCC 3.1 wont compile on SPARC/Solaris at *all*.  I tried to build it with
the following combinations:

- GCC 2.95.3, Sun binutils (ld, ar, as, etc)
- GCC 2.95.3, GNU binutils
- GCC 3.0.4, Sun binutils
- GCC 3.0.4 GNU binutils

They all crash and burn at one point or another.
