Wow, that must've been some seriously powerful stuff they were smokin.

My favs? the $0.99 radioshack speaker for $150, $4,000 for an 8mb vsimm,
128mb simm for $6000, $6,500 for an sm61, $9,000 for a ZX framebuffer,
$10,000 for a 167mhz 512k proc, $12,000 for a bare U2 motherboard, $15,000
for an SM81-2, $16,000 for a u1-200e mobo w proc ($13,500 bare), and $18,000
for a SPARCCenter2000 powersupply.

This is 1997, around the same time as Pentium-IIs started being mainstream
(meaning processor costing under $500), and PPROS were maxing out around
$1500 for 200MHz.

I remember paying about $300 for a 128mb simm around that time. They're
around $15 now.


Im sorry but even for 1997, and even being SUN doesnt give you the right to
gouge THAT much.
