My Crimson is a lot louder. My LX used to be the loudest machine I had until I replaced the Power supply (thanks Big Mike). The fan in it sounded like a shrieking banshee. Now it's virtually silent. My machine noise is quite relaxing, however. Sort of like the white noise that you get creeped out if it's not around... I can't sleep without it. Andrew
