[rescue] Accidentally destroying hardware..

Well, it didn't destroy anything physical, but I did accidentally shut down
all business on the Saxon Publishers network once. I had to plug in an
ethernet patch cable, and I randomly, hastily picked the absolute worst
possible jack. It was shared with a most important uplink jack, you see.

Other people had blundered at that company. There was a cable running up the
wall at one end of the server room. It had a sign attached to it, printed on
8.5"x11" paper and laminated. The sign read:

                           DO NOT CUT THIS CABLE
           IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO THE OPERATION OF THE UPS
                   (and everything connected to the UPS)
