I recommend the NETGEAR RT314 if you can still get it.
Works with DSL/CABLE built in dyndns.org client.  Get your own
domain from them for 30 bucks  ie:   elbonia.org and bobs your
uncle....dedicated connection that can be reached anytime.

PS: the new netgear stuff is SHIT...small HOT and not designed to last.
