[rescue] Problem with Alphaserver 300

Ok, I finally had the time to dig out my ps2 keyboard and mouse to try
this machine. On powering up, it comes up to a blue screen with the
white letters 

eb...

in the upper right corner. Anybody know what this is about? Or for that
matter, how to fix it?
