Like crab pot, aquarium, incubator, end table?

No. It was uncool: dumpster. It still torques me. But I didn't turn it
into a Windows PC.

You know, I ruled out the U1 b/c the Sol 9 Sys Admin's Eval Guide "highly
recommends" UltraSPARC at faster than 400 MHz. I have Sol 8 on an oldish
PC and it runs Java-based apps unusably slow, so I'm more than a little
receptive to performance recommendations like that. But maybe I'm being
too hasty.

My requirements are simple:
1) inexpensive
2) something that I can lift (unlike aforementioned SGI)
3) runs Sol 9 including Java-based apps at speeds I can live with.

I was thinking U5 440 MHz or something. I'd be interested in hearing how
Sol 9 runs on a U1. Umm, I can probably check the archives about Sol 8 at
least, which shouldn't be that different ...
