This is perhaps one of the most depressing parts of owning a MacPPC
box.  You can't go to freshmeat.net and ass-ume that stuff is going to
work for you without going through a lot of trouble.  Even then, most
open source stuff assumes a Gnu environment, assumes Linux (sometimes),
assumes x86 architectures, etc.

Though there is enough software for me on the Mac to do wedding videos,
basic commercials, basic training videos, etc. it would be nice to push
myself (and my hardware) farther.
