[rescue] cant get support once they're out-of-business

They generally are.  No manufacturer is perfect 100% of the time, however, 
and their last few generations of IDE hard drives have been far from perfect :(

The 75GXPs in particular have been known to die in large quantities, much 
more so than most other hard drive models.
