The first "Free Solaris" License said you could use the system for free
on any system with eight or fewer CPUs (regardless of how many the
system had -capacity- for).

When Solaris 9 shipped, they changed the license agreement and made it
apply to copies of Solaris 8 downloaded after 9 shipped.  The new
agreement says that you may use the free Solaris binaries only on
systems that are not SMP-capable.  Essentially, these are the
SPARCstation LC (Classic), LX, 4, 5, Voyager, SPARCbook, Ultra 1, Netra
150, Netra T1, Netra X1, Fire V100, Fire V120, Ultra 5, Ultra 10, and
Blade 100.  I've probably forgotten a couple, but you get the idea.

That said, there is nothing in the software that "calls home" or
disables SMP support or is otherwise different from "full-blown"
Solaris, but you are on the honor system to only use the software on
uniprocessor-only computers.
