[rescue] Just a thought - what would be a good starterSAPRC system these days?

For just plain learning Solaris, I don't think you can beat a SS5 on
eBay for under $100 including a monitor and shipping. SS20's (minus the
monitor) are available for the same amount. Now, if you want to learn
Solaris *fast* ;) you might want something better.

I've found that I can assemble SS5/10/20 systems including cables,
drives, CDROMS, etc. pretty inexpensively. My SS2 was $30 with monitor.
That monitor works on my SS5 that was $30. The 4G hard drive was $20;
the CDROM drive was $15; the CDROM case was $15, and so on. The older
stuff is very inexpensive, and a great way to learn Solaris on SPARC
hardware.

I have also introduced co-workers to Solaris. They're impressed that it
installs easier than Windows. (We knew that...) The toughest part is
convincing them that they *can* run a Unix box. For some reason they
think it's really hard. ;)
