Savvis is a pretty solid ISP. Compared with what I can get from Sprint,
I'm unimpressed with their service though. Savvis wanted roughly 2x as
much as sprint, and about 15 months ago, Savvis's service contract went
rather downhill. Sprint, on the other hand, still has some killer
guarantees. We talked the Sprint rep down to $900 per month, sprints
usual SLA, and a complete fiber run. That price included the local
loop, over fiber (which is tough to get in some places around here), and
the SLA applied to the local loop. I think that was on a 2 year
contract... Oh yeah, and if T1 prices were to drop significantly in the
midst of our contract, we can renegotiate at a better rate, for the
remainder of the contract.
Push the sales guys hard, and you can get some great deals.
