[rescue] Cdrom and floppy specs

To give some advice that might be more useful:
1. The SPARC 4 needs a slimline internal CD-ROM
that's rather hard to find--you may want
an external CD-ROM for use with it, or
(better yet) just install a CD-ROM in the
Ultra 1, install Solaris, set up jumpstart,
	and do a boot net.
2. If the 4x SCSI CD-ROMs have a jumper for
setting the block size, then ensure it's
set to 512 (the other option is 2048).
If there is no jumper for block size, then
you *might* get lucky and just have
everything work, since the Ultra 1 would
	have a fairly recent OBP.
3. If you can't use any of the ones you have,
I strongly recommend picking up a Plextor
	CD-ROM or CD-RW--they're 100% reliable,
every one I've seen has had the blocksize
jumper, and I've used up to 24x in Sun
boxen. Pioneer slot-load 24x drives are
another reliable choice if you don't want
	to deal with trays.
4. I haven't tried to use a PC-style floppy drive
in an Ultra 1. PC-style drives didn't work
when I played with them in older SPARC
boxen, so I wouldn't spend too much time
trying to get them to work. If you're
networking these, why floppies? I can't
tell you the last time I put a floppy disk
	into a SPARC box...

Good luck--
