Hi all,

I'm slowly getting into my alchemy efforts, turning computer junk into
gold and all since I have too much of the former and not enough of the
latter.

I have an HP Surestore 12000 (C1553A) 4mm DDS2 tape changer that I'd like
to sell. It is an external changer but is not in the HP enclosure, so I
don't want to call it a 12000e (even if it acts like one). It is a
six-slot changer, about the same footprint as a full height external SCSI
hard drive. The case has Centronics SCSI connectors on the back.

This changer is in working condition--I've done a backup with Networker
6.0 and other than running out of tapes, it worked admirably. Works with
mtx and Legato NetWorker 6.0 (I've used both on it), probably anything
else that uses scsi autochangers as well (such as previous NetWorkers,
Amanda, Veritas products).

Looking for a respectable offer for the following bundle:

	* external drive
	* one standard power cable
	* one pass-through style Centronics terminator
	* NOTE: NO SCSI CABLE INCLUDED.
	* one removable 6-tape magazine (additionals are ~ $25.60
	  from HP Business Store online, part C1571A)
	* five new 90m tapes in a box
	* one slightly used cleaning tape

Photos at http://britney.indyramp.net/~rnovak/ss12000e/ if you want to see
it. Note that the cdrw drive is (obviously) not included, nor are the 120m
tapes that were on top of the drive during the modeling session. See below
for some inquiry reports from this drive from Legato and mtx apps.

Looks like they're going for $150-330 and up on ebay (the cheaper ones I
see are as-is or with known errors), so something in that range (plus
shipping) would be appreciated. If there's no interest on the list, I'll
put it up on ebay later in the weekend and try my luck (and my patience
:-) ). Please contact me off-list if you're interested or if you have
additional questions.

Thanks,
Rob
