Similarly, Sun seemed to think up through 2.5 that DNS wasn't something
everybody used;  it wasn't even an option in the "set up naming services"
dialog.  You had to deliberately edit nsswitch.conf and create
resolv.conf.

Maybe they still thought NIS+ was going to take over the world ;).
