Put some of that talent to use for non-profit organizations (such as
local churches, the Boys & Girls Club, etc.) on a volunteer basis for
a while.  It looks great on a resume -- not only are you civic-minded,
but after 6 months, you now have references that can attest to your
skills *and the impact you had on business*.

This is advice I give to every person who asks me how I've gotten to
the point of making over $80K/year with no degree by the age of 28.
It works.  It's worked every time someone has followed the advice.
It may take some work to find the right organization to work with,
but it's worth the effort, and the rewards are much, much more than
just the potential return from your paycheck.  You will be filling
a much-needed role, and will probably learn something and have a
bit of fun in the process.
