I use the regular cable "modem" that Cox gives you (no complaints
with it) and a Netscreen-5 as my firewall/router.  Since I only have
one static IP, the box runs in NAT mode - but I can port forward to
my heart's content.

I'm very happy with this device - works like a charm!
