Hi Bob,

I've been meaning to do a good HOWTO on this for several months now.

I've found nice surface mount holders for button cells (from mouser) that I
have epoxied to the top of the nvram. then run wires down to the two leads
coming out of the IC (but buried in resin). Getting to them involves the
dremel tool.

I think you can find new ones for around US$16. I can give you a replacable
battery setup for about US$10 each, plus shipping. Battery included! It's
kind of fun to fix them if you have the patience, and lay off the coffee for
a few days, before you try it. (-: I shake too much if I don't.
