[SunRescue] Quirks in SS10 floppy operation?

A perplexing annoyance in my SS10 in the office has surfaced.
1. Boot/load from single floppy (e.g. OpenBSD) works fine.
2. Tarring to/from or fdformatting from OpenBSD crashes whole system
to a core dump.
3. Boot/load of first floppy of NetBSD works fine, but change to
second floppy to finish boot/load crashes and dumps the system.
It seems to work fine on the first floppy, but dies on second.
Is there anything strange about SS10 floppy habits that might give rise
to this sort of shennanigan?
Could it be something stupid like one of the indicator switches in the
drive itself?
Any insights are appreciated.
Thanks
Bob
