I ship a lot of stuff, typically if it leaves your hands in good condition
and the shipper somehow manages to turn it into a pile of smoldering junk it
is usually the problem of the shipper and the recipient. I know it somehow
does not sound fair, especially if you look at it from the buyers
perspective. However, I had a $2500.00 Amiga that I sold on eBay get nearly
killed via FedEx. Am I to blame for thier rough handling? It's not a
pleasant position from either end.

Of course if you did not safely pack the item and it gets damaged it's your
(seller's) problem.

Two things I've learned along the way.

1. Never use UPS they suck, not only are they rough on items the almost
never pay for thier mis-deeds.

2. Insure everything.

I have been using FedEx Ground for my normal packages, FedEx Express for the
it-really-has-to-be-there shipments and Priority mail for all packages under
2 pounds. I've found this to be a nice mix of service, savings and delivery
speed.

Regards,
