[SunRescue] Trying to save Sun2

Hi all,

Bill Bradford pointed this list out to me, as I'm trying to save an old
Sun2 from the dumpster. Well... that is to say... I think it's a Sun-2.
It's a deskside chassis (without the outside covers) with a 9-slot
MultiBus cardcage inside. In the cardcage is a card that says "Sun 2
Processor", a 3com network card, a keyboard/mouse/display interface, a
combined SCSI/4x serial ports interface, an SMD disk interface and 3
memory cards. Thusfar, comparing it to the information I could find on
the web, it looks like a Sun-2/120. But, in the Sun-2/120, the memory
cards should be in slots 2,3 and 4. However, slot 3 has only one card
edge copnnector (as opposed to two for the other slots). The only card
that doesn't need the second connector is the SCSI/4xserial controller.

So, I've got about 4 problems:

#1 What is the correct order for the cards, and what should be the
jumper settings on the memory cards.

#2 I hooked up a terminal (DEC VT220) to SIO-A. All I get is a lot of
gibberish. I've tried all possible settings. How can I get it to work?

#3 If I manage to get the console working, how do I proceed in
installing an Operating System?

And finally

#4 What kind of system is this excactly?

If any of you can helpp me with this, I would be very pleased.

Thanks in advance,

Camiel.
