I'm actually pretty sure that you won't see similar performance. I also
have a NeXT slab on my desk (turbo color station, 33 mhz m68040, 48 megs
o'RAM) sitting next to a Sparc 10 (SM30 (36mhz), 64 megs of RAM). The
NeXT is running 3.3 and while it is more than fast enough to use as my
primary machine, it quite a bit slower at rendering web pages and is
wholly unable to play mp3s. I only had NS 3.3 on the sparc for a few
days before installing linux (and then solaris), but web browsing (and
viewing image files) was much faster (though I don't have any benchmarks).

Then of course, I switched to solaris and found that everything was much
faster than NEXTSTEP....sort of shame, since the interface is so much
prettier in NS.

...who likes his slab better even if it is a little slow...
...after all, he can empathize with that...
